I first started reading the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh a little prior to the release of Archangel’s Prophesy (the 11th book in the series). That was almost a year ago.
I was not sure if it was a book for my palette but lo and behold, I absolutely LOVED it! The entire series!
I have been excited for this one as the last one ended on a mighty cliffhanger (even when I could have made guesses as to what will happen next, I needed to know!). Now, I do
It released on the 24th of September and I had it up on my Kindle the very same day! Did I mention I started reading it the same day too? I did! 😉
Lest I forget, here is the synopsis
Wings of silver. Wings of blue. Mortal heart. Broken dreams. Shatter. Shatter. Shatter. A sundering. A grave. I see the end. I see. . .
The world is in chaos as the power surge of the Cascade rises to a devastating crescendo. In furiously resisting its attempts to turn Elena into a vessel for Raphael’s power, Elena and her archangel are irrevocably changed. . .far beyond the prophecy of a cursed Ancient.
At the same time, violent and eerie events around the world threaten to wipe out entire populations. And in the Archangel Lijuan’s former territory, an unnatural fog weaves through the land, leaving only a bone-chilling silence in its wake. Soon it becomes clear that even the archangels are not immune to this deadly evil. This time, even the combined power of the Cadre may not be enough. . .
This war could end them all.
Review and Rating
Doom was prophesied and I could not wait to tuck into the book as soon as I had it made available to me.
In short, I loved it even when it left me wanting. That make any sense to you? Because it makes perfect sense to me.
The war started and all but in many a places it seemed as if everything was rushed. As if a limited number of words were available and a lot had to be cramped into them.
There are things I want to tall about but I do not want to give any spoilers as the book is full of them. Anything I say can very well be taken as a spoiler.
Let me try anyway;
- The Cascade power of Elena was awesome; I loved it
- All the scenes between Elena and Raphael are swoon worthy – who doesn’t want that kind of a love 🥰
- Bluebell needed to given some more face time – I missed him
- Sparkle was missing for the most part and when he was present, it was in the periphery – I didn’t like it
- The Legion? My heart bleeds for them
- The unexpected ascension does not make sense to me. Why was it needed? For the balance? Then why that particular angel and not another?
There is still so much more that I want to talk about but I have to keep it all in until my friends are done reading the book and I can indulge in long and heated discussions.
Till then? Together. Always. ❤
The Rating before I sign off

It’s amazing. I plan to do a reread (for the whole series) myself but in the coming year. It is that good.
